We power the people who keep parts moving.
Intropy is built by operators and engineers from inside the parts industry. We understand the fundamentals and pains of teams on the ground, and we support businesses throughout their growth journeys.
What we see
A parts industry
without blind spots.
The industry runs on instinct: a buyer's gut on reorder quantity, a warehouse manager's feel for what's about to move. But demand for any given SKU is volatile, driven by breakdown cycles, seasonality, and supersessions no spreadsheet tracks. When every location, buyer, and pricing sheet runs on a different version of the truth, that variance compounds into stock-outs on one shelf and dead stock on another.
Demand shifts. A part goes quiet. A competitor moves on price. Without a model watching every SKU across every location in real time, those signals surface in a report days later, after the stockout has already happened and the margin is already gone.
Intropy exists to replace guesswork with a live, data-driven read on demand, price, and risk across the entire network.
How it started
Why does the parts business still run on gut feel?
Every parts distributor makes thousands of judgment calls a week. What to stock, where to hold it, what to charge, when to let it go. The industry runs on those calls, yet most of them are still made from memory, instinct, and last year's spreadsheet.
We spent seven years building automotive AI together and saw both sides of the gap: machine learning was transforming how vehicles were assessed and repaired, while the parts behind every repair were still bought, priced, and retired on gut feel.
In 2024 we started Intropy to close that gap.
About Intropy
Our Founders

Fran co-founded Intropy to build world-class AI that transforms how spare parts businesses are operated.
An award-winning physicist, she completed her PhD at the University of Oxford, with research published in Nature, before moving into applied AI at Tractable.
During her time at Tractable, Fran fell in love with the extraordinary complexity of spare parts. Having grown up in a working-class family, she has a particular passion for industries that form the backbone of society but have historically been underserved by technology.
Her ultimate ride is a 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 (with the flux capacitor option installed).
YihKai leads the development of AI systems that understand and automate the complex decisions behind spare parts operations.
An applied AI specialist with an academic background at University College London, YihKai holds 10+ patents in applied AI for the automotive industry. Before founding Intropy, he worked at Tractable, developing AI for some of the world's largest automotive businesses.
YihKai's interest in the industrial world began early, growing up around his family's manufacturing business in Malaysia. That experience gave him a lasting appreciation for the businesses, machinery and supply chains that keep the physical economy running.
His ultimate ride is the 2013 Stark Industries Iron Man Mark XLII.
